The Swift Current Comp. Colts senior boys volleyball team made it all the way to the semifinals at their 12team home tournament over the weekend.

The Colts opened the tournament with a routine win over Caronport, followed by a split with Medicine Hat Crescent Heights.

They finished first in their minipool and ended up in the top pool where they lost close matches to Moose Jaw Central and Fox Valley.

They defeated Medicine Hat High School in that round robin as well.

The Colts finished third in the top pool and got a buy to the quarterfinals. They defeated Prince Albert Carlton in two games in the quarters and had to face Central again in the semifinals. The Colts were unable to match the power of Central as the Cyclones beat the Colts in straight sets to end their tournament.

The Cyclones ended up beating Fox Valley in the final in two straight games to claim their second SCCHS Invitational Tournament title in a row.

The Colts are comprised of eight grade 12’s, two grade 11’s, and three grade 10’s this season.

Next up for the Colts will be the Regina Campbell Invitational on Oct. 12-13.
