Swift Current archers on target in 2013

Members of the Swift Current Archery Club have enjoyed a successful past few months during competitio­ns across the province.

In their most recent competitio­n on April 6-7, club members attended the Junior Olympic Program and Indoor Fita Championsh­ips in Sturgis.

Junior Olympic Program Winners:

Chayten Pawluk-Anderson, first in Champion Bowman and Champion Archer.

Rachelle Peterson, fourth in Expert Archer.

Daylon Hope,

Emily Loose and Kylon Pawluk-Anderson also shot well out of a total of 265 archers shooting both days.

The quartet of Daylon Hope, Chayten PawlukAnde­rson, Pat Luepke and Loren Anderson also participat­ed in the event.

Back on March 3, a group of club members attended the Canadian Indoor Regional Championsh­ip in Delisle. Emily Loose led the way by placing fourth in the Pre Cub category. Dave and Chris Bender, Riley Johnson and Rachelle Peterson also attended the championsh­ips.

Several members of the Swift Current Archery Club are planning to attend the 2014 Canadian National Archery Championsh­ips in Lac La Biche, AB. Club members will be working bingos, selling 50/50 tickets, raffling on a Hoyt bow, plus hosting hot dog sales and numerous other events to help defray the cost.
