Humphrey fifth at MJT Golf Tour Event in Prince Albert
Two Southwest golfers took part in a Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour Saskatchewan Series Tournament over the long weekend.
Swift Current’s Griffin Wilson and Eastend’s Kirk Humphrey were both in Prince Albert for the 2013 MJT Nationwide / Golf Saskatchewan OOM Series at Cooke Municipal Golf Course over the Canada Day weekend.
Humphrey placed fifth in the Bantam Boys Division. He sat seventh after the first round when he fired an 84 to sit five shots back of Prince Albert’s Kyle Schneider for the lead. He trimmed three strokes on day two with an 81 to finish with a total of 165, just seven shots off the lead. Schneider repeated his 79 on Sunday for a twoshot win over Saskatoon’s Matt Bean and Yorkton’s Kade Johnson.
Wilson placed 19th in the Bantam Boys Division with a two-round total of 198.
Wilson shot a 105 on Saturday to sit well back of the lead after the first round. He won the Golf Town Comeback Award after improving by 12 shots on day two with a 93.
