SaskPower is of­fer­ing free en­gine block heater timers to SaskPower cus­tomers and CAA mem­bers at all 14 CAA lo­ca­tions in the prov­ince, in­clud­ing Swift Cur­rent’s Duf­ferin St. lo­ca­tion. Ac­cord­ing to SaskPower, plug­ging in your ve­hi­cle for just four hours is all it takes to start your ve­hi­cle. If ev­ery Saskatchew­an res­i­dent used a block heater timer, SaskPower could save enough power to sup­ply more than 5,000 homes — the equiv­a­lent of tak­ing 8,500 cars off the roads.
