PeeWee Broncos shut out by Yorkton Terriers
It was a tough weekend for the Swift Current Southwest Terminal PeeWee Broncos when they hosted the South Sask PeeWee AA Hockey League’s top dogs.
The Yorkton Terriers visited Fairview Arena on Saturday and Sunday and skated to 6-0 and 5-0 wins over the PeeWee Broncos to improve to 4-0 with 33 goals for and only three against.
Swift Current dropped to 1-5 on the season after picking up their first win one week earlier.
The PeeWee Broncos were in Melville the previous weekend and split the two-game set against the Millionaires.
Swift Current lost the opener 8-1 Saturday as they spent much of the game shorthanded. Ryland Hornung scored the lone goal with an assist from Nathan Levac. Swift Current finished one-forsix on the powerplay, while Melville scored three goals on 14 man-advantages.

The PeeWee Broncos fell behind 1-0 only 17 seconds into regulation before scoring the next five goals, including three from veteran Reed Jacobson.
Melville cut the lead to 5-3 in the second period but Swift Current netted the only third-period goal for a 6-3 final.
Aaron Toews finished with a goal and two assists, while John Priela and Beau Larson also tallied. Hornung, Rhett Evjen, and Matt Christianson also added assists and Jacob Herman earned the win in goal.
The PeeWee Broncos will resume their league schedule on Nov. 2-3 when the Estevan Bruins (1-1-0) visit for two back to back games.
