Shaunavon’s KidSport Program will be getting a boost thanks to a celebrity fundraiser featuring a pair of former Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The fundraiser on April 5 will feature Rider Hall of Fame receiver Don Narcisse and nine-year CFL veteran and 2007 Grey Cup champion Luc Mullinder.

The idea of a Celebrity KidSport Fundraiser was dreamed up by Overtime Restaurant and Sports Lounge owners Megan Todd and Josh Lindsay along with Shaunavon’s Joel Sopp.

“When the idea of a Celebrity KidSport Fundraiser came up with Megan, Josh, and I last fall, we immediately thought of football,” said Sopp. “Our team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, won the Grey Cup and Rider Pride was everywhere in our great province. We thought this would be the perfect way to generate interest in Shaunavon’s KidSport Program.”

The trio are firm believers in the KidSport philosophy that every child deserves the right to play sports. “It’s the main reason that Josh and I joined Joel to make this fundraiser possible,” said Megan.
