Familiar names atop Super League again

The JayDee/Westax rink skipped by Max Kirkpatric­k defeated Ken Koster’s Klassen Autobody rink to win the Innovation Credit Union Super League second half championsh­ip.

JayDee/Westax had placed fifth in the regular season with a 4-4-0 record before winning three straight games in the playoffs to claim the championsh­ip.

They knocked out fourth seeded Scotiabank (Lenz) in the quarter-finals before defeating second seeded Premier Tech ( James) in the semi-final.

Kirkpatric­k was joined by third Shaun Meachem, second Jeff Chambers, and lead Shawn Hiebert. The current foursome has now won three of the past four Super League titles over the past two years.

Klassen Autobody had finished first in the 10-team round robin with a 7-1 record. They were upset in the quarter-final by Premier Tech but advanced to the final with a semi-final win over Swift Plumbing (Wicks).
