Scidmore collects SFMAAAHL hardware

Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats’ rookie Kate Scidmore collected a Saskatchew­an Female Midge AAA Hockey League honour at the awards ceremony over the weekend. The skilled forward won the Fiona Smith Most Sportsmanl­ike Award after playing 28 league games without being whistled for a single penalty. The 15-year-old finished third in team scoring with 16 points during her first Midget AAA season and led the Wildcats in playoff scoring with three goals and an assist in six playoff games without being whistled for a minor penalty once again. She finished 29th in league scoring in the regular season and was the only skater in the league’s top-82 scorers to finish without a single penalty minute.
