Lac Pelletier gearing up for 50th anniversary
Summer hotspot Lac Pelletier Regional Park is throwing a day long bash in order to celebrate its 50th anniversary on July 19.
Events are hosted from sun up to sundown during the celebration, including a pair of performances by Sask Express.
The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Lac Pelletier Hall, followed by a Parade down the Lake at 10 a.m.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be hotdogs and hamburgers sold at the hall for $5.
Visitors can enjoy a range of entertainment during the day, starting with Metis Jiggers and Fiddlers from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the corral. Sask. Express is scheduled to perform hour long shows at both 1 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
A series of dignitary speeches will be made at 2 p.m.
A historical table will share details of the history of the park and the community.
Visitors to the park can also enjoy a Craft and Bake Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, balloons and face painting, a petting zoo, horse and wagon rides, vintage refurbished horse buggies, a car show.
A buffet supper will be served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for $15 a plate.
An evening dance at the Corral featuring Glenna Switzer and her band, plus Skip Neufeld and Bakersfield, will run from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Another event highlight will be the draw for a 50/50 prize, plus the drawing of the Trip getaway raffle.
