SunDog shooting for spot in SPCA Calendar
Cypress Regional College mascot SunDog will be appearing in the Swift Current SPCA’s 2015 fundraising calendar, and SPCA members are encouraging pet lovers to enter their pets into the calendar contest.
For $5, anyone can submit a Buy-A-Day entry into the calendar and choose the day of the year where their pet photo will be seen. In addi- tion to those 300 spots, supporters can also enter their pets into the monthly or yearly contest category.
“We are asking $25 for Pet-of-the-Month submissions and $50 for Pet-of-theYear cover photo submissions,” explained SPCA Committee Chairperson Theresa Neustaeter. “And we are asking that Monthly and Cover photo entries be animals that originally came from shelters or rescues of any kind.”
Entries for the monthly and yearly spots are limited, so anyone not selected in these categories will automatically be given a spot elsewhere in the calendar.

The Swift Current SPCA is involved in a series of major fundraising initiatives this year, including their $14 for 2014 Campaign.
“Our goal for the $14 for 2014 Campaign is $50,000 and we are currently 60 per cent of our way there,” she said. Other fundraisers, such as the Calendar and Travel Raffle, are aiming to provide alternative opportunities for the community to support them.
