The McIntyre Family Foundation is announcing the second and final intake for 2014, which is set for November 1 to 30. The Prairie Healthcare Scholarships are available to students and professionals at all levels wishing to pursue their dreams in a variety of healthcare professions.

Back on April 29, the McIntyre Family Foundation awarded 59 Prairie Healthcare Scholarships during an exciting launch in Swift Current after being overwhelmed with 549 applications. They awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $18,500 dur-

These successful candidates will now be following their dreams to enrol in a range of healthcare related studies from Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacology to Kinesiology at post-secondary institutions including the Universities of Saskatchewan, Regina, Manitoba, Alberta and Lethbridge, as well as Colleges such as Red Deer and Great Plains College.

Since the initial intake had such an overwhelming response the McIntyre Family Foundation, founded and headquartered in Southwest Saskatchewan has decided to refocus its efforts in the Southwest region. The McIntyre Family Foundation still hopes to expand applications in the future, once the Fund has grown to meet the larger needs of the prairie provinces.

Going forward, the Prairie Healthcare Scholarship will accept applications once per year starting in the spring of 2015.

The McIntyre Family Foundation was formed to make a difference in Canadian Healthcare by offering financial assistance to those students who choose to pursue post-secondary education in a wide variety of healthcare-related fields. The Prairie Healthcare Scholarship will award upwards of $400,000 per year to students that may range from $2,000 to $20,000.
