Family fun event planned for National Children’s Day on Nov. 20
The Swift Current Early Childhood Action Coalition (ECAC) is excited to announce that they have developed an interactive, fun filled event for families with children under eight years of age that will be held on November 20th in Celebration of National Children’s Day. This event is based on the new Children’s Charter that was launched earlier this year.
Families will have the opportunity to come and participate at two different times. Snacks and door prizes will be available. There will be eight interactive stations set up based on the ‘Rights of The Child’. Together, families can explore the rights of children in a fun filled informal setting. In addition, the activities will help encourage and guide parents in several areas of their child’s development and lifelong learning process.
The event will be hosted next Thursday at the Bright Beginnings Family Centre (885 6th Ave. N.E.) with sessions running from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This event is free and is sponsored by RBC, Community Initiatives Fund, and all of the organizations involved in the ECAC.
The vision of the ECAC is to promote activities that build positive foundations and promising futures for all children. Their mission is to collaborate around initiatives that support families and communities in improving outcomes for children aged 0-6 years in Southwest Saskatchewan.
The ECAC is made up of the following community organizations: Bright Beginnings Family Center; Chinook School Division; Cypress Health Region; City of Swift Current; Early Childhood Intervention Program; Family Advocacy; Family Resource Centre; Holy Trinity School Division; Milestones Early Learning Centre; Natural Wonders Earl Learning Centre; Parent Mentoring Program; Salvation Army; Newcomer Welcome Centre; Ministry of Education Early Learning; Southwest Regional Intersectoral Committee.
