Hennes was third in the league after the win with a 1.34 goals against average in three outings, but it was her first win in AAA Midget with the Wildcats.

“It was so exciting. I could not stop smiling the whole time and just had a big smile on my face. It was good. I felt the pressure a little bit after we scored but I told myself I needed to give the team a chance to win and that is how we played,” she said.

She had some rowdy Notre Dame fans to con- tend with as she worked for her first win.

“It is a little different. I try to block that out so I didn’t notice the crowd too much. I can definitely tell you they were rowdy and they were definitely out of control.”

The Eatonia native played last season with the West Central AA Midget Wheat Kings.

“It has been really good. I am having a blast playing for this team,” she said of her time with the Wildcats.

The Wildcats temporaril­y moved back into spot in the Saskatchew­an Female Midget AAA Hockey League with a 7-2-0-0 record, while Notre Dame dropped to 1-6-0-0. The Saskatoon Stars won twice over the weekend and now lead the league with 26 points, followed by the Wildcats with 21 points.

The Wildcats were in Regina on Wednesday to face the sixth-place Regina Rebels (2-2-1-0). Check swbooster.com for full results.

They will be at home this weekend to host the defending Esso Cup champion Weyburn Wings (4-61-0). The games will begin Saturday at 7:45 p.m. and Sunday ay 1:15 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.
