The Swift Current Southwest Terminal Pee Wee Broncos added two blowout wins over the visiting Melville Millionaires to their total as they continue to lead the South Saskatchewan Pee Wee AA Hockey League early this season.

Saturday, the Broncos scored the first four goals of the game in a 6-1 victory as Jacob Herman earned the win in goal. Taylor Lind led the offense with two goals and an assist and Riley Dekowny added a goal and two assists, while Cash Arntsen had a pair of helpers.

Hendrik de Klerk chipped in a goal and an assist and Hayden Wilm and Reed Jacobson also scored. Tanner Scott and Levi Lamotte also added assists.

Sunday, it took a while to get going offensively but the Broncos eventually skated to an 8-1 win after a scoreless first period.

Lind paced the offense again with two goals and three assists, while Dekowny and Jacobson each had two goals and an assist.

Rhett Evjen added a goal and two assists, Wilm had a goal and an assist, and Ryan McCleary registered two assists. Joe Arntsen had a single assist as Chase Coward picked up the win in goal.

"Yeah we had a good weekend," said head coach Darren Evjen. "We were playing pretty consistent. The second game here, our first period we struggled to play the right way, but then

Forward Taylor Lind (centre) led the Pee Wee Broncos with five points in an 8-1 win over Melville Sunday. once we got on track and started to be a little more direct in our game we kind of took off and separated ourselves from Melville."

Evjen said he was equally pleased to score 14 goals as allowing only two against.

"You want to be able to defend first and we did a good job of that from the goaltender out this weekend. But you also want to score goals. If you can score goals five-on-five and on special teams like we did this weekend that is a real plus."

The Pee Wee Broncos had won a 16-team team tournament in Saskatoon the previous weekend.

"It takes a lot out of you when you come back. Credit to our kids, they practiced well this week. You have to keep the momentum going. When you win something like that it takes a lot of energy to win a tournament like that and when you get back practice is where you have to get your game back."

The Broncos continue to lead the South Sask Pee Wee AA Hockey League with a 50-2 record. They have some of the league's top scoring players, including Jacobson's 17 points to lead the league and Lind's 14 points in second spot. But the team has been getting scoring from across the line-up while averaging almost seven goals per game.

"We are getting points from every forward. Our D is starting to get better at moving their feet and shooting the puck, so we are getting more opportunities from our back end too," noted Evjen.

The Pee Wee Broncos will be in Prince Albert for tournament action this weekend. They will return to league action on November 29-30 when they return the visit to Melville.
