Broncos alumni performing well in the AHL

BEleven former members of the Swift Current Broncos have skated for 10 different teams in the American Hockey League so far this season.

Justin Dowling is the second leading scorer on the Texas Stars with 18 points in 25 games this season. Dowling helped the Stars win the league championsh­ip last season. Import defenseman Julius Honka has two goals, seven assists, 22 penalty minutes, and a minus-six rating in 28 games with the Stars during his first profession­al season.

Graham Black has made an impact with the Albany Devils during his first profession­al season with five goals, five assists, and a plus-four rating. Defenseman Reece Scarlett has five assists in 11 games with the Devils during his second profession­al season.

Former Broncos captain Taylor Vause had three goals, four assists, and a plus-three rating in 12 games with the Adirondack Flames.

Veteran defenseman Brent Sopel has skated in 22 games with the Chicago Wolves and has seven assists and a plus-one rating in 22 games.

Defenseman Bretton Stamler appeared in seven games with the Hartford Wolf Pack earlier this season. He had four penalty minutes and a minus-three rating while with the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers.

Ian White has played for both the Providence Bruins and the Milwaukee Admirals this season in the AHL. He had four points in eight games with Providence and also has an assist in three games with Milwaukee.

Defenseman Aaron Rome had a brief stint with the Norfolk Admirals when he posted a plus-two rating in two games with the Admirals.

Veteran AHLer Jason Jaffray has six points and a plus-four rating in seven games with the St. John's IceCaps this season.

Colton Orr has skated in nine games with the Toronto Marlies this season with only four penalty minutes.

John Negrin is playing for the Utica Comets this season and has zero points in 11 games. Utica led the Western Conference with a 19-5-5-0 record heading into the holiday break.
