The Swift Current Comp. Ardens basketball team will return to the hardwood this weekend when they host a four-team round robin tournament.

The Arden have a 9-4 record this season with one tournament title and two silver medal performances.

The Ardens may show a little bit of rust after a week off due to the exam break.

"It's always tough to find your rhythm after a week off, but I think everyone will be in the same boat with most schools across the province having exams this time of year," conceded head coach Andrew Herrick. "We will have a good practice on Thursday and let the girls get lots of shots up so they will be ready for Friday night."

The Ardens will open the tournament Friday against the Prince Albert Carleton Crusaders at 8 p.m.

"The only team we have seen at tournaments this year is Prince Albert Carlton. They are an athletic team with good size that will be a challenge for us. They press and fall into a zone so our press break and zone offense will have to be sharp," explained Herrick.

The Ardens will face North Battleford on Saturday at 10 a.m. "The past few years we have always had really close games with North Battleford so I don't think this year will be any different," noted Herrick.

They will conclude the tournament on Saturday at 5:15 p.m. against Dunmore, AB.

"We have never played Eagle Butte High School (Dunmore AB) but we are looking forward to competing against a new team," said Herrick.
