SWT Board of Directors approves plans for two building projects

South West Terminal Ltd. announced two large building projects this past week that will continue the company’s growth in the Southwest.

The first project, slated to begin construction in fall 2015, will be a new crop inputs facility along High- way 4 in Wymark. Preliminary plans for the facility include a 5,000 square foot chemical shed, a 1,800 metric tonne volumetric fertilizer blending plant, and a modern office building. The cost of the project in Wymark will be an approximately $2.3 million investment and the timeline for construction indicates that SWT hopes to have the facility operational by the spring of 2016.

General Manager of SWT, Monty Reich, says the Wymark location really expands the company’s coverage of the Southwest.

“The location is a completely new expansion in Wymark, we already have pre-existing facilities in Cabri, Shaunavon, Hazenmore, and Gull Lake, so this Wymark expansion relly fills the gap of our existing locations.”

Reich adds the facility in Wymark will also create five or six more full time positions as well.

A slightly smaller project is aimed for Antelope, near Gull Lake, also for the spring of 2015. The $1.8 million project will be the construction of a new main office building. The existing office in Antelope has exceeded its current capacity due to the company’s continuous growth. The project will be a modern, 10,000 square foot office building to allow for future growth. SWT expects the new office building to be operational by the fall of 2015.

The construction con-

Stracts for each building project have been awarded to Silverline Construction in Swift Current, who Reich says have been valuable partners of SWT in the past.

“Silverline Construction has been our general contractor of choice over the last few years so we continue that strong working relationship going forward with two new projects.”
