Coun­cil ap­proves rep­re­sen­ta­tives for Prairie Pi­o­neers In­de­pen­dent Hous­ing Board of Di­rec­tors

The City of Swift Cur­rent named three rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the City to sit on the Prairie Pi­o­neers Inde- pen­dent Hous­ing (PPIH) Board of Di­rec­tors dur­ing a spe­cial coun­cil meet­ing on the af­ter­noon of March 20.

Deputy Mayor Pat Friesen tabled a mo­tion Fri­day af­ter­noon in Coun­cil Cham­bers mov­ing that Tim Mar­cus, John Wall and Al Bridal be­come rep­re­sen­ta­tives for the City on the PPIH Board ef­fec­tive March 25th at the or­ga­ni­za­tion’s an­nual gen­eral meet­ing. Coun­cil was unan­i­mous in their de­ci­sion to ap­point Mar­cus, Wall, and Bridal for the next year.

At coun­cil on Mon­day, March 16, the City ap­point- ed seven rep­re­sen­ta­tives to serve as the City’s vot­ing del­e­gates at the PPIH an­nual gen­eral meet­ing as well as any spe­cial meet­ing of share­hold­ers through­out the year. In ad­di­tion to Mar­cus, Wall and Bridal, the city ap­pointed Mayor Jerrod Schafer, CAO Su­san Motkaluk, plus City Coun­cil­lors Ryan Plewis and Pat Friesen.

The City is a ma­jor­ity share­holder and three mem­bers of the seven rep­re­sen­ta­tives are re­quired to be ap­pointed to serve as the City’s Board of Di­rec­tors.

Their ten­ure on the Board for PPIH will be ef­fec­tive un­til the day pre­ced­ing the An­nual Gen­eral Meet­ing 2016.
