Council approves representatives for Prairie Pioneers Independent Housing Board of Directors
The City of Swift Current named three representatives from the City to sit on the Prairie Pioneers Inde- pendent Housing (PPIH) Board of Directors during a special council meeting on the afternoon of March 20.
Deputy Mayor Pat Friesen tabled a motion Friday afternoon in Council Chambers moving that Tim Marcus, John Wall and Al Bridal become representatives for the City on the PPIH Board effective March 25th at the organization’s annual general meeting. Council was unanimous in their decision to appoint Marcus, Wall, and Bridal for the next year.
At council on Monday, March 16, the City appoint- ed seven representatives to serve as the City’s voting delegates at the PPIH annual general meeting as well as any special meeting of shareholders throughout the year. In addition to Marcus, Wall and Bridal, the city appointed Mayor Jerrod Schafer, CAO Susan Motkaluk, plus City Councillors Ryan Plewis and Pat Friesen.
The City is a majority shareholder and three members of the seven representatives are required to be appointed to serve as the City’s Board of Directors.
Their tenure on the Board for PPIH will be effective until the day preceding the Annual General Meeting 2016.
