Sum­mer op­por­tu­ni­ties for youth

A pair of re­turn­ing sum­mer op­por­tu­ni­ties for youth are again ex­pected to draw strong par­tic­i­pa­tion.

The Swift Cur­rent Mu­sic Camp, pre­sented by Blenders, will be held on July 16 to 20.

This five day camp help teach young mu­si­cians how to make rock and pop mu­sic. Daily ses­sions are held at Mav­er­ick School, at Gowan’s Grove, with a grand fi­nale on the Lyric The­atre stage.

This op­por­tu­nity is open to youth aged 13 to 17, and par­tic­i­pants must have some mu­si­cal pro­fi­ciency.

Swift Cur­rent youth will also be able to par­tic­i­pate in the Sage Hill Writ­ing pro­gram again this sum­mer.

This youth writ­ing ex­pe­ri­ence will be held from July 23 to 27 at the Swift Cur­rent Li­brary, with in­struc­tor Madonna Hamel lead­ing the course.

The five day work­shop is open to youth aged 12 to 16, and in­ter­ested par­tic­i­pants are asked to ap­ply by June 6.
