Yard Waste dis­posal sites open

Swift Cur­rent’s Res­i­den­tial Yard Waste Pro­gram launches to­day, with a pair of staffed sites now in op­er­a­tion for five day a week yard waste dis­posal.

Th­ese free dis­posal sites are sit­u­ated at the In­no­va­tion Credit Union iplex park­ing lot, and the for­mer St. Joseph’s School site on the Southside.

Op­er­a­tional hours are Tues­day and Thurs­day evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Yard waste can also be dropped off on Fri­day af­ter­noons be­tween noon and 4 p.m. Week­end hours are Satur­day and Sun­day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

At­ten­dants will pro­vide in­struc­tions to in­di­vid­u­als when visit the sites.

Users are re­minded to sep­a­rate wood and branches from or­ganic yard waste be­fore they head to the dis­posal sites. Peo­ple should be pre­pared to empty any bags they are trans­port­ing their yard waste in, as no bags are ac­cepted.
