Sask-alta League heats up this week

The Sask-alta Base­ball League sea­son is well un­der­way as all eight teams have played at least four games so far.

The Gull Lake Grey­hounds have got­ten out to a quick start with a 5-1 record to lead the league. The Cabri River Rats were sec­ond with a 4-1-1 record, fol­lowed by the Rich­mound Rock­ets at 4-2 and the Shau­navon Badgers at 3-3. The two-time de­fend­ing league cham­pion Swift Cur­rent Yard Goats sit fifth with a 2-1-1 record.

Tonight’s ac­tion in­cludes the Grey­hounds vis­it­ing the Medicine Hat Vipers, the Yard Goats vis­it­ing Rich­mound, the Maple Creek Mo­hawks head­ing to Cli­max, and the River Rats head ing south to bat­tle the Badgers.

On Fri­day, the Cli­max Car­di­nals will visit the Vipers in Medicine Hat.

Satur­day will fea­ture Shau­navon head­ing to Rich­mound, Cli­max vis­it­ing the Rocket Dome in Rich­mound, and the Badgers head­ing to Medicine Hat. The Swift Cur­rent Yard Goats de­feated the vis­it­ing Shau­navon Badgers 7-6 on June 7 in the Sask-alta Base­ball League.
