The Everly Brothers Experience will launch new Stars for Saskatchewan series

-

The Everly Brothers Experience, featuring the Zmed Brothers and The Bird Dogs Band, will be the first concert in the 2018-2019 Stars for Saskatchewan concert series hosted by the Swift Current Arts Council.

The concert will be held at the Living Sky Casino’s Event Centre at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27. The show celebrates the influential musical legacy of The Everly Brothers, who sold more than 35 million records and released three chart topping singles and 35 songs which reached the top 100 singles list between 1957 to 1962. Phil and Don Everly burst onto the scene with their first number one single Wake Up Little Susie in late 1957, followed by All I Have To Do Is Dream in May 1958, and their biggest selling hit Cathy’s Clown in May 1960. The Everly Brothers are credited with influencing numerous groups during the formative years of Rock n’ Roll with their harmonies.

The Everly Brothers Experience show was first developed in early 2016, and has toured regularly over the subsequent years. Zachary and Dylan Zmed provide the vocals, with the backing of three other musicians.

The concert is not an impersonation of the Everly’s, but the show aims to “honour the aesthetics of their iconic sound and honour their unique place in music history, all while having a little fun telling our own personal story.”

The Everly Brothers Experience will be in Canada for 11 dates, and this November they will be performing 11 shows in Ireland and the United Kingdom before wrapping up their European tour with three concerts in Paris, France.
