Snow Queen cast rehearsing for Saturday curtain raising

Journey with fun-loving Hobgoblins to the “land of colored ice” this as they tell the tale of a young girl and her quest to find her best friend. You may find yourself believing in malevolent mirrors, yetis, talking reindeer, and snow chickens when the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 25 local students perform an original musical adaptation of The Snow Queen.

The local cast features Kate Klonarakis as Gerda; Tate Unger as her best friend, Kay; and Delaney Dyck as the Snow Queen. Natalya Iron will play Gerda’s Grandma/old Robber Woman. The Gardner Woman/ Finnish Woman will be Cassie Hammer. Adnan Zanidean plays Bae; Caiden Francis plays Yeti; Aurora Garcia plays Little Robber Girl; and Mr. and Mrs. Crow will be Hudson Coates and Annabelle Murray. Carson Mcgorman and Autumn Olfert will play the Prince and Princess. The imaginativ­e, fun-loving Hobgoblins are Zoe Gottselig and Kimber Weston. The Snow Animals are Emily Clements, Hayley Lindsay, Ellie Rokochy and Samantha Schmidt. The Robbers will be played by Aiden Cox, Madison Lawrence, Tienna Reinhart and Amryn Zacharias. And the Snow Chickens are Sterling Chalk, Sam Clements, Malek Khadri, Elise Lawrence and Hunter Schmidt.

The Snow Queen will be presented on Saturday, October 20th at 3 p.m. at the Living Sky Casino Event Centre. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and are available at Pharmasave and at the door.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Swift Current is hosted by Koncerts 4 Kids with support from Swift Current Kiwanis Club, Innovation Credit Union and other local businesses and the Organizati­on of the Saskatchew­an Arts Council, Saskatchew­an Arts Board, Saskatchew­an Culture and Saskatchew­an Lotteries.
