Midget AA Broncos continue incredible start

The Swift Current Abbey Resources Broncos added three victories to their incredible start to the Saskatchew­an Midget AA Hockey League season last week to move to 16-0 on the campaign.

Thursday, the Broncos won their 14th consecutiv­e game with a 5-0 victory over the host Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox.

The Broncos scored twice on the power play and killed off four shorthande­d situations. Justin Dueck made 21 saves in his second shutout of the season.

Levi Brewer paced the attack with a goal and two assists, while Ryland Hornung added a goal and an assist. Beau Larson, Levi Lamotte, and Cash Arntsen also scored. Nathan Mcinnis, John Priela, Davis Hunter, and Brock Oberle all added assists.

Saturday, the Broncos finished three-for-five on the power play in a 6-2 win over the host Regina Vics.

Lamotte, Quinn Patenaude, and Hornung all finished with a goal and two assists. Larson scored twice while Cash Arntsen and Oberle each added two assists.

Priela also scored and Brewer added a single helper. Brad Nyen picked up the win as the Broncos outshot the Vics 37-29.

Sunday, the Broncos edged the visiting Notre Dame Argos 3-1. Hornung, Arntsen, and Larson all scored. Ryan Mccleary, Larson, Brewer, and Oberle added assists.

Dueck earned the win as the Broncos outshot the Argos 43-20.

The Broncos are on the road Friday to visit the Moose Jaw Warriors.
