The Swift Cur­rent Home Hard­ware Le­gion­naires con­tin­ued a five-game Saskatchew­an Mid­get AAA Hockey League home stand with two home wins over the week­end to climb the league stand­ings.

Satur­day, the Le­gion­naires re­turned to the win col­umn with a 2-0 vic­tory over the Moose Jaw Gen­er­als. Ethan Hein earned the shutout with 26 saves against his for­mer team.

Bos­ton Bird and Reed Ja­cob­son each posted a goal and an as­sist in the win. Lu­cas Ochitwa as­sisted on both goals.

Sun­day, the Le­gion­naires edged the vis­it­ing Notre Dame Ar­gos 3-2. They fired 44 shots on goal, but Ruben Cooper made 41 saves to keep the Ar­gos within strik­ing dis­tance.

Mac Gross, Maguire Scheidt, and Strutt scored in the win. Hen­drik de Klerk had two as­sists, while Chase Gal­lant, Ochitwa, Kersey Re­ich, and Ja­cob­son all added as­sists.

Ja­cob Her­man earned the win with 24 saves.

Avery Kirkup and Noah Alt­wasser replied for the Ar­gos.

The Le­gion­naires moved back into third spot in the SMAAAHL with a 196-1-0 record.

The Le­gion­naires will now gear up for the Mac’s Mid­get AAA World In­vi­ta­tional Tour­na­ment in Cal­gary over the hol­i­days.
