Bantam Broncos battle northern opponents
The Swift Current Pure Chem Broncos played a pair of one-goal games against visiting North Divisions opponents in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League over the weekend.
Saturday, the Broncos’ comeback bid came up just short in a 4-3 loss to the Prince Albert Pirates. Kalan Lind finished with a goal and two assists, Rhett Dekowny scored twice, and Rylan Silzer notched a pair of assists. Dayne Feicht and Daniel Ganert added single assists. Colby Watson took the loss with 23 saves.
Sunday, Feicht scored the final two goals to help the Broncos defeat the Battlefords Barons 4-3. Feicht tied the game with 59 seconds left in the second period and then scored a power play goal with 1:28 remaining in regulation.
Lind assisted on all three goals. Riley Bowers also scored, while Kane Klassen, Dekowny, and Silzer added assists. Colby Watson earned the win with 23 saves.
The Broncos finished the weekend at 7-5-0, in sixth spot in the South Division.
The Bantam Broncos are on the road this weekend to visit the Melville Millionaires and the Prairie Storm.
