SWAC basketball season continues

The last SWAC Senior Basketball League games of 2018 took place this week. The Swift Current Comp. Junior Ardens defeated the Herbert Laurel girls’ team 41-39. The top scorerfor Swift Current was Jordyn Salberg with nine points, while Kea Frase, Erika Sauder and Veda Gottselig all chipped in six points. The top scorers for Herbert were Shyler Chartier with 10 points and Grace Meyers with nine points.

The Swift Current Junior Colts (Ethan Murdoch and Griffin Duncalfe with 11 points each) beat the Gull Lake Lions (Ian Mittleholtz 16 points, Anthony Lamarre 15 points) by a score of 81-38.

The Shaunavon Silhouettes were on the road to Maple Creek. They won 45-26 over the hometown Maple Creek Rebelles.

Playing at home, the Frontier Raiders came up with a 59-47 win against the Shaunavon Shadows. The Shadow’s Codee Smith notched 23 points and Dawson Jacob scored nine points. For Frontier, Kyle Anderson had 24 points and Brody Dumontel had 18 points.
