Donaldson receives eight year manslaughter sentence for death of Logan Ring

Todd Donaldson was sentenced to eight years in jail for his role in the November 2016 death of Logan Ring.

Donaldson entered a guilty plea to one count of manslaughter in Court of Queen’s Bench in Swift Current on Tuesday afternoon.

Donaldson, who is now 49, had been in remand for 488 days leading up to Tuesday’s sentencing. He received a day and a half credit for each day of pre-trial time served, so he will be required to serve an additional six years in custody. A publication ban was placed on details of the incident. His sentence matches an eight year manslaughter sentence handed to Rebecca Kuhlman in late 2018.
