Burnham 4H January Club Report

The Southwest Booster - - OPINION - BY SARAH NEUSTAETER

We held our first general meeting of 2019 on January 8th.

On the evening of January 11th, our Club held a Bingo to thank members of the Burnham community, family and friends for supporting us. Families donated prizes and the kids performed all the duties: distributing cards and prizes, acting as callers and checkers, and serving snacks…under adult management, of course! We had a great turn out and, I think, everyone would agree that it was a fun way to spend a Friday night!

Later that weekend, on January 13th, the Lighthorse members went for a sleigh ride. Thank you to Dale Anderson and Alice Hattum for sharing your knowledge and your fjords!

On the 27th, a number of families braved the rain, snow and strong winds for a skating party hosted by the Jorgenson Family at their own personal rink. In spite of the weather, we enjoyed a great afternoon of skating and hockey. We wrapped the day up with hot chocolate and a BBQ supper. Thanks, Jorgensons for a great time!

January was a busy month for our Club and we look forward to an exciting new year!
