Piapot resident wins $100,000 on scratch and win lottery ticket

What goes around comes around, in a good way, for Saskatchewan’s newest lottery prize winner.

Thomas Munro received a birthday gift of a Player’s Choice Mega Pack from his aunt, and one of the tickets in that pack earned him $100,000.

It was a fitting repayment of a dose of luck that Munro gave his aunt at Christmas a few years back, when a ticket he gifted her won $10,000.

After checking his ticket both on the WCLC Mobile App as well as an in-store ticket checker, he phoned his aunt to tell her the news.

“She couldn’t believe it!” he said in a press release. “I mean, what are the odds?!”

Munro is planning to put his birthday winnings toward bill payments, savings, and a very special family vacation.

“I’m going to take my family on a vacation,” he said. “I’m going to ask my aunt to come with us; I feel like it’s the least I can do!”

Munro’s aunt purchased the winning pack of tickets at the Pharmasave in Maple Creek.
