Young at Heart Campaign will help bring smiles to residents of The Meadows

-

Locally owned The Sputtergotch Toy Company is partnering with The Meadows Auxiliary in Swift Current, to raise awareness and funds for the purchase of much-needed recreational resources for residents.

The Young At Heart Campaign is aiming to bring smiles to seniors and residents of The Meadows through the campaign.

The Sputtergotch Toy Company’s Owner and CEO, Garry Koebel, feels there is a huge need that has largely gone unnoticed.

“Every year as part of our community involvement, we partake in a number of initiatives that usually involves children-oriented causes and needs. This year, in addition, we have identified a huge need for our senior community, and we are excited to launch this fund-raising campaign that will add some smiles to many residents who call The Meadows Home.”

The Young at Heart Campaign is aiming to raise funds for the purchase of recreational and special needs items to enhance the quality of life for residents at The Meadows, such as games, puzzles, art and craft supplies, and other much needed resources. The Sputtergotch Toy Company will match dollar for dollar contributions made to the campaign to a maximum of $1,500, where the Meadows Auxiliary will put the funds to work.

Camille Campbell, CTRS and Recreational Therapist with The Meadows, is excited about the huge benefits that could result from this campaign.

“Recreation and leisure is an important part of life no matter what your age. Our elderly are a population that is often forgotten. Having more and wide ranging resources for those living at The Meadows will lead to better quality of life by reducing boredom, loneliness, and helplessness.”

Donations will be accepted at The Sputtergotch Toy Company’s store location at 113 Central Ave. N. in Swift Current from March 12th to April 19th. Tax receipts can be issued to those requesting.
