Daughters of the Nile hoping to sell out final fundraiser

- SOUTHWEST BOOSTER

The remaining three Swift Current members of the Aurora Club #5 Daughters of the Nile are hoping to make one last big impact with their annual raffle.

The fundraiser in support of the Shriners Hospital for Children - Canada in Montreal will build on the legacy of funds they have raised over the past number of years.

The three remaining members will be selling tickets at Pharmasave for just four more days (June 20, June 21, June 27 and June 28). Remaining tickets will be available by phone only.

“We want to thank everyone who supported this venture,” commented member Bep Hamer.

“We met with many people from far and wide who have had friends and family treated in the Shrine Hospitals,” added Diana Andrews. The driving force behind their ticket sales was Kay Blydo, who passed away in April. She spent many hours promoting and selling tickets to support this worthy cause.

Nationally, the Daughters of the Nile Foundation and Canadian Foundation contributes over $2 million for the medical care and rehabilitation of children at the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Only 1,500 tickets are available at a cost of $20, with a first prize of $1,000, second prize of $800 and a third prize of $700. Proceeds will go to the Convalescent Endowment Fund and Aurora Club activities.

Anyone interested in arranging to purchase a ticket can contact Diana Andrews (306-773-9514), Bep Hamer (306-773-7359) or Mary Dyck (306-773-6957).
