South­west dom­i­na­tion at Pi­lot Butte Rodeo

South­west com­peti­tors won five events at the Pi­lot Butte Com­mu­nity Rodeo on June 14-16.

Hazen­more’s Chanse Switzer won a Cana­dian Cow­boys As­so­ci­a­tion rodeo for a sec­ond straight week­end when he con­quered Bor­der Bound for 76 points to win Bull Rid­ing and a $949 pay­day.

Mankota’s Shawn Wil­liamson also won in Pi­lot Butte when he fin­ished Tie Down Rop­ing in 8.2 sec­onds for $597.

Cadil­lac’s Brooke Lang added a third win for the South­west when she topped Ladies Bar­rel Rac­ing in 14.83 sec­onds for $807. Mankota’s Karli Cowie was sev­enth in 15.25 sec­onds for $175.

Waldeck’s Tee Mcleod worked with Trey Gal­lais (Sun­dre, AB) to win Team Rop­ing in 5.6 sec­onds for $1,743. Tuftin and Tyce Mcleod were third in 7.2 sec­onds for $1,142.

Maple Creek’s Cas­sidy Gor­don added a win in Ju­nior Girls Bar­rel Rac­ing in 14.99 sec­onds for $315. Mckenna Le­gault was fourth in 15.25 sec­onds for $78.

A pair of South­west cow­boys produced top-three times in Steer Wrestling. Tee Mcleod placed sec­ond in 5.1 sec­onds for $449. Maple Creek’s Brady Resch was hot on his heels in third in 5.2 sec­onds for $355.

The CCA is back in the South­west this week­end for Fron­tier Days in Swift Cur­rent on Thurs­day with reg­u­lar per­for­mances at 7 p.m., Fri­day at 1 p.m., and Satur­day at 7 p.m.
