Peewee Broncos fly past Wings
The Swift Current Southwest Terminal Peewee Broncos scored 19 goals on their way to a weekend sweep of the visiting Weyburn Wings.
Friday, the Broncos scored the final three goals in an 11-7 win over the Wings.
Ryder Woods tallied two goals and four assists, Parker Rondeau totaled three goals and two assists, and Gage Nagel added three goals and one assist.
Derric Dulatre also registered a hat trick, while Sam Kirwan, Theron Watteyne, and Wesley Olson each had two-assist outings. Brady Simpson, Peyton Keller, Ryden Lingenfelter, Griffin Darby and Nate Silbernagel all added single assists.
Aiden Kilshaw earned the win in goal.
Saturday, the Broncos followed up with an 8-1 win as Berney Weston picked up the win in goal.
Woods led the way with a goal and three assists. Rondeau netted a hat trick, while Nagel and Dulatre each scored twice.
Simpson and Levi Wills each finished with two assists. Olson, Darby, Lingenfelter, Watteyne, and Sam Kirwan all added single helpers.
The Peewee Broncos continue to run away with the South Sask Hockey League lead with an 11-2-3 record.
The Peewee Broncos will host their 12-team home tournament this weekend. They will open the round robin on Friday at 10 a.m. against the Regina Buffalos. The Peewee Broncos will also battle Tisdale on Friday at 7 p.m. at Fairview East Arena.
The championship game is slated for Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Fairview West Arena.
