Lind makes NHL debut with Canucks

Shaunavon’s Kole Lind realized his National Hockey League dream on Thursday when he suited up for the Vancouver Canucks.

Lind made his NHL debut in a 4-1 loss to the host Toronto Maple Leafs. The 22-year-old forward finished with two shots on goal, one hit, and one blocked shot in 17:12 of ice time.

Lind was drafted 33rd overall by the Canucks in the 2017 NHL Draft. He had five goals and three assists in eight games with the Utica Comets in the American Hockey League this season.

The Canucks dropped the rematch 5-1 on Saturday. Lind finished with two hits and one block in 15:42 of playing time in his second career game.

The Canucks were last in the seven-team North Division with a 19-23-3 record after their fourth straight loss.
