A trio of business ribbon cuttings were held in conjunction with the first Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce Chamber on Tap event of 2021.

Brunswick Creek Psychology Services, Thoosa Therapy along with Meadowlark Speech & Language all celebrated their grand openings on July 20. The complementary services are all hosted in the Professional Building on Cheadle St. W. in downtown Swift Current.

“I would like to thank all three of you for choosing to officially set up shop here in Swift Current,” Swift Current Mayor Al Bridal said during the grand opening ceremony last Tuesday. “Our citizens rely on access to a wide range of professional healthcare services, and it’s great to see that this new location in our downtown core for just this purpose.”

Dr. Conor Barker serves as Clinical Director of Brunswick Creek Psychology Services, and he said his operation is helping fill a need in the community.

“The role that I primarily do is assessment. So we do Psychodiagnostic Assessment for individuals with mood disorders, with learning difficulties, with attention difficulties. We have recently expanded into autism spectrum assessment that we do in partnership with Meadowlark, so we’re thrilled to work along side them. And we do a lot of work with Thoosa for a lot of our clients who are looking to expand their skills in terms of leisure and in terms of occupation. Individuals with ADHD require ADHD coaching, we love working with Tiffany (Powell) and her team,” Dr. Barker said.

“I don’t know if anybody would recommend expanding a business during a pandemic, but we have and we have been well welcomed by Swift Current and by the community. And we have plenty of partners in the community, both new and old.”
