Five Titans win home wrestling tournament
The Swift Current Titans Wrestling Club had 28 wrestlers on the mat at their home tournament on January 29. The Titans collected with five first-place finishes, seven second-place showings, and five third-place showings.
Ruby Zummack won all three of her matches to place first in the Cad/juv Female 62-66 Division. She picked up wins by fall over the Hawks Wrestling Club’s Angela Gilheas and teammates Teagan Emms and Ella Toles.
Carter Stad won the Bantam Male 33-34 Division with two wins. Stad won by fall over Ascendant Martial Arts’ Garnet Mcveety and Pups Wrestling’s John Hutcheson.
Ally Metke won both of her matches to win gold in the Cad/juv Female 42-46 Division. She won by fall over Hawks’ Emily Walsh and teammate Keyanna Ginter.
Gabe Emperingham won both matches to place first in the Peewee 26-29 Division. Emperingham won by tech fall over Ascendant’s Ella Inson and by fall over Moose Jaw’s Charlie Bohn.
Zachary Dyke won both matches to place first in the Peewee 52-54 Division. He defeated Ascendant’s Ivy Wonsul by tech fall in the first match and by fall in the rematch.
Jared Steinley placed second in the Cad/juv Male 85-94 Division with one win and one loss. Keyanna Ginter placed second in the Cad/juv Female 42-46 Division with one win and one loss. Seth Unger placed second in the Cad/juv Male 105-19 Division with a pair of losses. Alex Hyde placed second in the Bantam Male 59-63 Division with one win and one loss. Sawyer Steinley placed second in the Peewee 61-64 Division with a pair of losses. Lowell Toney placed second in the Freshie 21-22 Division with two wins and one loss.
Hillary Lacelle placed third in the Cad/juv Female 57-62 Division with two wins and two losses. Ella Toles placed third in the Cad/juv Female 62-66 Division with one win and two losses. Cecil Toney placed third in the Freshie 21-22 Division with one win and two losses. Ivy Wiebe dropped both matches to place third in the Novice 36-37 Division. Gemma Tumback placed third in the Peewee 46-49 Division with two losses.
Teagan Emms was fourth in the Cad/juv Female 62-66 Division with three losses. Dominic Bonogofski finished fourth in the Cad/juv Male 74-79 Division with one win and three losses. Connor Hammer placed fourth in the Cad/juv
Male 63-69 Division with one win and three losses. Bella Green was fourth in the Novice 45-48 Division with three losses. Brynlie Jacobson was fourth in the Freshie 22-23 Division with one win and three losses. Maddox Green placed fourth in the Freshie 23-25 Division
with one win and three losses.
Olin Jacobson placed fifth in the Novice 29-30 Division with one win and three losses. Titus Erick finished fifth in the Cad/juv Male 63-69 Division with four losses. Talon Tumback placed fifth in the Cad/juv Male
72-74 Division with four losses. Alex Painchaud finished fifth in the Cad/ Juv Female 57-62 Division
with four losses. Mack Henderson was fifth in the Peewee 41-44 Division with four losses.
