Wildcats take down Goldwings to conclude regular season

The Swift Current Innovation Credit Union Wildcats wrapped up the Saskatchew­an Female U18 AAA Hockey League with three games last week.

Wednesday, the Wildcats saw a 3-1 lead vanish in the third period when the host Regina Rebels scored three goals in under three minutes to defeat the Wildcats 5-3.

Jerzey Watteyne, Caitlyn Perlinger, and Calla Kampen all scored in the loss. Addison Eurich had two assists, while Olivia Kirwan and Amiyah Jones added singles. Paige Fischer took the loss with 28 saves on 32 shots.

Berlin Lolacher led the Rebels with a hat trick, while Ashley Grice and Stryker Zablocki also scored. Hannah Tresek made 16 saves in the win.

Saturday, the Wildcats opened the weekend with a 4-1 win. Sadie Keller scored twice, while Watteyne scored while shorthande­d and Evangeline Hill scored on the power play. Eurich, Tess Bakus, Perlinger, Kampen, Amiyah Jones, and Kylee Hansen all picked up assists. Karlee Lehner made 26 saves in the win. Lehner finished the season with a 12-4-0 record with a 1.35 goals against average and a .955 save percentage.

Addison Longmore scored for Weyburn against her hometown team, while Hailey Sibbald took the loss with 36 saves.

Sunday, Paige Fischer made 25 saves to shutout the Goldwings 5-0. Eurich led the Wildcats with a goal and two assists.

Watteyne scored twice, Ella Wingert, and Kirwan each had a goal and an

assist, and Keller added two assists. Kampen and

Jones each chipped in as- sists. Fischer finished her

first season in Swift Cur- rent with a 2.21 GAAA

and a .925 save percentage.
