Saskenergy wins three more national awards

-

Saskenergy is once again being recognized on a national scale after winning three awards recently from the Canadian Gas Association (CGA), the voice of Canada’s natural gas delivery industry.

That makes six major CGA awards in just over a year for the corporation.

The first of the three new awards is notable for being Saskenergy’s fourth Environmental Stewardship Award from the CGA since April 2022. In this year’s Innovations in Emissions Reduction category, Saskenergy won for its roadmap to reducing emissions from operations by 35 per cent by 2030.

“Saskenergy is committed to protecting the environment and being part of a sustainable and greener future as we deliver safe, reliable and affordable energy to our customers,” Saskenergy’s Acting President and CEO Mark Guillet said. “Our roadmap was truly a collaborative effort. Throughout many brainstorming sessions, various

Saskenergy staff came forward with innovative ideas and creative solutions, and I am thrilled to see that effort and dedication recognized nationally by the CGA.”

Saskenergy’s second win highlights the company’s continuing dedication to providing the best possible experience for its customers.

The company took home the Michael Mulcahy Award for Excellence and Innovation in Customer Care and Service, which acknowledges significant achievements in innovation and service to natural gas users.

The award recognizes Saskenergy for redesigning its residential energy-efficiency rebate program application process. Enhancements included connecting customers with important information about the program, simplifying application for the rebate through an online form, shortening timeframes to receive the rebate, and improving the overall customer experience.

This is the third time the CGA has honoured Saskenergy with the Mulcahy Award since the award’s inception in 2019.

Rounding out Saskenergy’s wins is recognition of an emerging leader within the company who has made a name for herself by going above and beyond as a mentor and coworker, as well as in her dedication to providing value to Saskenergy’s customers.

Senior engineer Jamie Kilkenny was honoured as one of the CGA’S Young Business Leaders of the Year.

Whether working on some of Saskenergy’s largest projects, helping organize the company’s first-ever pipe ceremony or mentoring young girls who are interested in exploring careers in science, technology, engineering and math, Kilkenny embodies Saskenergy’s corporate values.

“I am very proud that the three areas Saskenergy was recognized for are also the areas I feel make our company stand out—our customer service, our commitment to sustainability and our amazing people,” Guillet said. “I’d like to congratulate everyone who contributed to these achievements and commend them for showing the country what makes Saskenergy such a great company and special place to work.”
