Southwest competitor­s dominate Bob Larson Memorial Indoor Rodeo

Southwest competitor­s were all over the leaderboar­d at the 58th Annual Bob Larson Memorial Indoor Rodeo in Val Marie.

Waldeck’s Tee Mcleod won Team Roping in 4.4 seconds for $1,983. Tuftin and Tyce Mcleod followed in a third-place tie in 5.1 seconds for $1,128.

Tyce Mcleod was fourth in the Canadian High Point Award standings, while Tuftin was fifth. Tyce sat second in the Heeler standings. Tee was leading the Header standings, followed by Tuftin in second.

Beechy’s Allee Kapeller won Junior Girls Barrel Racing in 12.0 seconds for $216. Mankota’s Kiera Wiliamson was second in 12.23 seconds for $162. Maple Creek’s Chloe Stokke was third in 12.69 seconds for $108. Williamson was leading the event season standings, Stokke was seventh and Kapeller was ninth.

Maple Creek’s Blake Link tied for top spot in Bareback with 75 points on Pay Roll for $386. Link was sitting second in the season standings after his 10th rodeo.

Consul’s Zane Tully was second in Bull Riding

with 74 points on Canadian Miracle for a $648 payday. Tully was on pace for a Finals appearance in eighth spot in the event season standings.

Maple Creek’s Codi Parsonage was third in Novice Saddle Bronc with 62 points for $126.

Maple Creek’s Cody Lane tied for third in Saddle Bronc with a 75-point ride on Spring Creek for $270. Lane was 10th in the season standing after 17 rodeo appearance­s.

Kiera Williamson was also third in Ladies

Breakaway Roping in 2.5 seconds for $615.

Maple Creek’s Kahl Wasilow placed third in Novice Bull Riding with 74 points for $171. Wasilow was second in the event season standings after the rodeo in Val Marie.

Mankota’s Shawn Williamson placed fourth in Tie Down Roping in 9.2 seconds for $378. Waldeck’s Tyce Mcleod was sixth in 11.0 seconds for $135. Williamson was fifth in the season standings, while Tyce Mcleod sat 16th.

Mankota’s April Williamson was fourth in Ladies Barrel Racing in 12.04 seconds for $478. Waldeck’s Mallory Mcleod was eighth in 12.28 seconds for $68. Williamson was fifth in the season standings, while Mcleod was seventh.

Eastend’s Joe Vansandt was also fourth in Junior Steer Riding with 67 points for $67. Vansandt was second in the season standings behind Chase Skene.

Maple Creek’s Tate Beierbach was sixth in Steer Wrestling in 39.9 seconds for $103.

The Wapella Roughstock Rodeo will be held on October 7.

The CCA Finals will take place on October 19-22 in Saskatoon.
