SWAC cross-country championships held in Frontier
CROSS COUNTRY
SWAC had a wonderful district championship meet on the Frontier golf course. SWAC had huge participation numbers – over 175 runners that took part (grade 4-12). Commissioner Haley Peckman and Geraldine Ham (and their crew from Frontier School) were great hosts.
Age group winners:
Pee Wee girls: 1st - Kysa Getzinger (Waldeck), 2nd - Breanna Kropius (Ponteix), 3rd - Rya Getzinger (Waldeck).
Pee Wee boys: 1st Chad Logan (Fairview), 2nd - Linken Gunstenson (Herbert), 3rd - Peter Dyck (Vanguard).
Bantam girls: 1st - Mya Dowdeswell (Fairview), 2nd - Claire Topham (Eastend), 3rd - Emmerson Wiens (Ecole Centennial).
Bantam boys: 1st Jesse Olson (Waldeck), 2nd – Tucker Paul (Cabri), 3rd - Jett Wallace (Ecole Centennial).
Intermediate girls: 1st - Scotlyn Rogers (Scchs), 2nd - Kinley Pratt (Maple Creek).
Intermediate boys: 1st - Wyatt Jahnke-schafer (Maple Creek), 2nd - Nick Klassen, (Vanguard), 3rd - Grayer Routledge (Herbert).
Junior girls: 1st - Amy Anderson (Frontier), 2nd - Keely Tuchscherer (SCCHS), 3rd -Rory Jorgensen (Vanguard).
Junior Boys: 1st - Colter
Folk (SCCHS), 2nd Jackson Tuplin (SCCHS), 3rd - Carson Williams (Maple Creek).
Senior girls: 1st - Isabelle Gottselig (SCCHS), 2nd - Hannah Ulm (Ponteix), 3rd - Grace Chou (Fox Valley).
Senior boys: 1st - Jake Klassen (Vanguard).
SWAC is sending 18 intermediate, junior and senior runners to the SHSAA provincial cross country championship. Regina will host the competition at the Canada
Games
Athletic Complex.
FOOTBALL
Maple Creek hosted Lumsden on Friday. The Maple Creek squad lost 44-14. Gull Lake’s game with Notre Dame was rescheduled to Wednesday,
Sept 30 in Moose Jaw. The Lions recorded their first win in the league (29-14).
The Shaunavon Shadows hosted Moose Jaw Vanier and won 14-11 to improve to 4-0. They visit unbeaten Lumsden on Friday.
