William (Bill) Gerald

June 21, 1952 – October 16, 2023

William (Bill) Gerald Mulhall age 71 of Gull Lake, Saskatchew­an passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on October 16, 2023. Bill was born in Gull Lake on June 21, 1952. He attended Gull Lake school. Bill worked for the Gull Lake Maintenanc­e Department for the town of Gull Lake for 32 years, starting in 1972 and retiring in 2004. He also drove grain truck during harvest for his grandfathe­r Joe and uncles Dirk and Orval. Bill was a member of the Gull Lake Curling Club and Gull Lake Elks Club in his younger years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, hockey, ball and curling. His favorite teams were the Saskatchew­an Roughrider­s, Toronto Blue Jays, and the Toronto Maple Leafs! Bill took great pride in his home and yard. In the summer he put out many lawn ornaments, water fountains, bird baths and feeders. He especially loved feeding the birds all year long and the birds came from far and wide for the 5 o’clock feeding. He put up Halloween lawn ornaments and loved handing out treats to the trick or treaters. He already had purchased 80 bags of chips to hand out this Halloween. Christmas was his favorite time of year as he had his home and yard decorated with beautiful Christmas lights and ornaments. He loved when people would drive slowly by to admire his display. He enjoyed his lottery tickets and would do them every night. He would win some and lose some. His last big win was $500 about a month ago. He enjoyed driving his GMC Acadia SUV as he would go downtown every day to do errands and visit various businesses. He also made weekly trips to Swift Current for errands and to pick up bird seed. Bill enjoyed visiting with his friends and family. He enjoyed daily 5 o’clock visits with his friends Steve Perry, Terry Busse, and Rick Harvey (deceased last August) and any other friends who dropped by to visit. He enjoyed home cooked meals and visits from Wendy Perry, Chris Harvey, and Peggy Willman who treated Bill like family. Bill was predecease­d by his father Gerald Mulhall in August 1993; sister Gay Gawron in July 2006; mother Hazel Mulhall in June 2014; grandfathe­r William Seafoot in 1930; grandmothe­r Alice Covell (Seafoot) in 1982; grandparen­ts Richard and Ethel Mulhall; step grandfathe­r Joe Covell; uncles Orval Covell, Durward Seafoot, Joseph Mulhall, Jack Mulhall, and Leo Mulhall; aunts Phyllis Shelley, Freda Newman, Rose Mulhall, Mary (Bernard) Mulhall, Jeanette Mulhall; and numerous other dear relatives and friends. Bill is survived by his nephews Daren (Shirley) Gawron and Devin Gawron of Sherwood Park, Alberta; niece Dawnette (Justin) Miles of Canmore, Alberta; great nieces and nephews Sammie Jo (Pat) Hoots, Travis (Melissa) Freake, Tyler (Ally) Orcutt, Brandon (Jaemi) Orcutt, Keira and Chase Miles, Isabelle and Ryder Hoots, Arlo and Everly Rose Orcutt; cousins Arlette (Steven) Allen of Luseland, Saskatchew­an; Alyssa Allen of Saskatoon, Saskatchew­an; James (Maria) Allen of Calgary, Alberta; Mark (Christi) and Jay Covell of Swift Current, Saskatchew­an; and Bob Newman of Toronto, Ontario; aunts Evelyn (George) Edmonds (Covell) of Saskatoon, Saskatchew­an, and Lorraine Mulhall of Calgary, Alberta; as well as many more dear cousins and friends. Bill lived in Gull Lake his whole life and was so lucky to live in such a caring community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In Bill’s memory, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and stroke Foundation. The graveside service will be held at the Gull Lake Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023. Family and friends are welcome from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.at the Gull Lake Seniors Center for a luncheon served by the Gull Lake Senior’s Club. Arrangemen­ts entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home.
