Two long standing and popular Swift Current traditions now in jeopardy

The future of the Saskpower Windscape Kite Festival and Long Day’s Night Music Festival are in jeopardy and need your help.

The festivals are struggling financially and need help getting back to a steady position. The not-for-profit will be dissolving by the end of the year without your immediate support.

If you value the kite festival and want to ensure you can take your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to enjoy all the future festivals, please lend a hand on a working committee.

If you believe that having a world class family-oriented festival, with positive provincial and federal recognition, is good for the City of Swift Current, please consider serving on our board of directors.

If you understand that having a festival with a $3,000,000 local impact which welcomes up to 11,000 people to our community is important to the economy of Swift Current, please invest financially in our festivals.

The festivals are at risk and in order to remain viable we desperately need your help. While the board would love to save it, we cannot do it alone. Our not-for-profit board members need to pass the torch to a new group of dedicated citizens and business people who can help revitalize the festival. If we are unable to secure funds and new board members by mid December, Windscape Kite Festival and Long Day’s Night Music Festival will dissolve permanently.

We will be hosting an emergency public meeting on Monday, November 27th at 6:30 p.m. at the Swift Current Museum.
