Saskpower Windscape Kite Festival seeking sponsors to fly for June, 2024

- SUBMITTED

The community is stepping up to ensure that this year’s festival is the best yet.

This year, the Saskpower Windscape Kite Festival is being powered by more than 50 community volunteers who have stepped up since the November 27, 2023 Town Hall meeting calling for support to stabilize the festival. The Sponsorship Committee is hitting the streets and will be securing sponsorships throughout January.

• Sponsors have the opportunity to engage more than 4 million viewers in print and

online advertising, and more than 11,000 attendees at the event.

• Sponsorship categories start at $1,000, and both cash and in-kind sponsorship is needed.

Windscape Board Chair Kimberley Hartwig says that “We have lots of work to do between now and June 22, and we have many hands and hearts making it happen. Windscape will be

a community effort for a provincial festival with national and international reach. It is wonderful to see the support coming in.”

While there are always many great causes and events looking for support, the Saskpower

Windscape Kite Festival is a cultural event with a $3 million annual economic impact in the southwest. An investment in Windscape is an investment in Swift Current, in Saskatchewan, and in the belief that it is possible to fly no matter what the skies bring.

Volunteers have stepped up at this critical time to strengthen the present and future of the award-winning festival. “We are committed, with the generosity and support of our community,” says Hartwig, “to make sure we have the biggest and best festival yet.” As the sponsors are secured, the festival’s marketing and operations committees are pinning down the specifics. People can expect to see international kite flyers, fabulous family activities, and great days in this one-of-akind destination in southwest Saskatchewan.

Anyone interested in sponsorship opportunities can contact the Sponsorship Committee at sponsorship@ windscapekitefestival.ca by the end of January. Donations are also welcome at https://windscapekitefestival.ca/emergency-funding-campaign/ and more opportunities to donate and volunteer will be coming in the spring.
