John was born in Dublin, Ireland on September 23rd, 1931. As a young boy he and his family moved to Abergavenny, Wales, for a better life. John met Jean at the age of twenty one when he was in the army doing his national service. They married December 2nd, 1959, and soon to follow came their four children. In 1967, the family immigrated to Canada and settled in Beechy, Saskatchewan. John was a carpenter by trade, a skill that he carried throughout his life. He always had a project on the go, was a jack of all trades, and always willing to offer a helping hand. John and Jean shared a love of the outdoors. They wandered the prairie hills, hiking, camping, canoeing, and snowshoeing. For many years they enjoyed their cabin at Beaver Flats with their family and friends. John was a kind, caring and honest man, he always found the good in everyone. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His positive outlook on life is something that his family will carry with them in their hearts forever. John is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean; their children Yvonne Halldorson (Terrence), Shelagh Runge (Dale), Christopher Doyle, as well as his 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Peter, grandson Kyle, brother Paddy, and sister Maureen. Funeral arrangements are in care of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home – Ryan Cappelle & Hayden Cappelle.
