U13 AA Broncos win four straight as postseason looms
The Swift Current SWT Terminal Broncos won all four games in the Saskatchewan U13 AA Hockey League last week, led by a prolific offensive performance from Damon James.
The Broncos opened the week on Tuesday with a 7-3 win over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors. Cole Anderson made 25 saves on 28 shots.
James led the Broncos with a hat trick, while Kyan Vansandt added a goal and two assists. Luke Mitchell and Ty Gleim both registered a goal an assist. Maddex Floberg also scored. Carter Bleau, Dallin Mitchell, and Ryden Getz all added assists.
Friday, they followed up with an 8-1 win over the host Regina Mustangs. James erupted for four goals and three assists. Vansandt followed with two goals and one assist. Gleim scored twice and Bleau picked up two assists, followed by one assist from Buck Hargrave. Anderson earned the win with 18 saves.
Saturday, the Broncos added an 11-1 win over the Yorkton Terriers. James remained red hot with seven goals and one assist. Vandsandt contributed four assists and Gleim chipped in two goals and one assist. Bleau had another two-assist outing. Blake Simpson and Getz also scored. Luke Mitchell, Dallin Mitchell, and Chad Logan all added assists.
Anderson made 29 saves in the win.
Sunday, the Broncos wrapped up the week with a 9-5 win over the host Melville Millionaires. Bleau led the Broncos with two goals and three assists. Luke Mitchell, James, and Gleim all recorded two goals and one assist, while Vansandt had a three-assist outing.
Floberg also scored, while Dallin Mitchell and Getz each had an assist. Simon Ailsby earned the win with 19 saves.
The Broncos sat third in the South Division with an 18-2-2 record. They host the Regina Buffalos on Saturday and the Regina Blues on Sunday to conclude the regular season.
