MOEN Obituaries

-

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our dad, Glenn Miller Moen; husband to Rose, on March 3rd, 2024, at the age of 79. Glenn was the second son of Miller & Mike Moen. He was born in Swift Current on August 23rd, 1944, and he grew up on the family farm near Stewart Valley. Glenn was a hard worker, who believed in honesty and life-long learning. He had a few careers throughout his lifetime; including farm hand, ferry operator, Helium plant worker and Elevator Manager. Glenn loved gardening, reading and visiting. His family and friends were so important to him. Glenn & Rose loved to travel and made a point to visit family regularly. They also took many trips with their friends every year and in his younger years, he loved nothing more than a night out with their friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping every summer and their bus trips in the fall and winter. He was involved with the Stewart Valley Senior Center, which always kept him close to his roots. In these later years, he and Rose enjoyed heading out to Stewart Valley for a day of cards with some of their friends. He volunteered with various organizations throughout the years and was a long-time FOE member. Words cannot express how good Glenn was to his friends and family, or how much they meant to him. He was always quick to help any one of them, with whatever was needed. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Glenn is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose; his children, Sandra Wik (Ron) and Travis Moen (Jami-lee); his grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, Harper and Holden; his siblings, Norma Cook (Bill – deceased) and Dale Moen (Connie); his brothers & sisters-in-law, Robert (Delores – deceased), Marlene (Pias – both deceased), Eileen (Warren – deceased), Charles (Grace), Diane (Lloyd – deceased), Clare (Gerry – deceased), Debbie (Rondeceased), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Miller and Mike; his son, Allan; and his siblings, Jerry and Wanda. The funeral service will be held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church on May 4th, 2024, at 2:00PM, with Pastor Patti Sherk officiating. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Burial Park, on a later date, where he will be laid to rest peacefully with his son.
