St. Thomas Times-Journal - - REMEMBRANCE DAY - By Jessica Gallacher

When are you coming home? Are you coming home? It’s been a year Time’s passed slowly since you left I hate feeling alone. When will this war end? After massacring millions of men? Or will it continue until the world ends? God, please bring my father home. Amen. Tic Toc You left five years ago today Time has gone as slowly as a healing wound I can’t believe it’s been two years Since you passed. For your birthday Mom and I eat cake alone As flowers grow on your gravestone A piece of us is missing without you at home Home You were supposed to come home Not die in a battle zone Leaving me with the unknown The “What if…” The “When’s?” When will the world know peace? When will the pain end? Most importantly When will I see my dad again?
