Col­li­sion sends two to hos­pi­tal

A driver is charged af­ter a col­li­sion Mon­day at an in­ter­sec­tion near down­town that in­jured two peo­ple. A 58-year-old man was driv­ing south on El­gin Street at about 12:30 p.m when col­lided with ve­hi­cle be­ing driven west on Welling­ton Street by a 42-year-old man. Airbags were de­ployed in each ve­hi­cle and both driv­ers were taken to St. Thomas El­gin Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal with non-life threat­en­ing in­juries, po­lice said. The 58-yearold man is charged with fail­ing to stop for a red light.
