Canada has pursued own path with Cuba

Re: “Trudeau’s Cuba stance disgrace to Canadians,” Dec. 1, 2018.

Your recent editorial on Canada’s Cuba stance did not mention the full context of the UN vote on the embargo of Cuba.

According to UN Watch, Canada joined 114 other nations, including Norway, India, South Africa and Cuba’s regional neighbours, in voting “no” while 66 other nations abstained and two joined the United States in voting “yes.” Canada has for the most part pursued its own point of view on Cuba over the past 50 years.
